  1. Hey,

Couple more question, even though some are very minor issues.

    1. If the question asks to write answer in the form cos(#) + i sin(#) – would it be okay to rite cis(#)

    2. If the question asks to write in the form a + ib – do you need to state what a and b (i.e. (2+1) + i(2+1) = 3 + 3i, where a =3 and b=3)

    3. In the conics section, where we determine the equation of the chord of contact (ellipse) using the equations of the tangents – would is be okay to use this proof a question, which said show the chord of contact has the following equation (2 marks)

And if you can use this proof, would just state the two equations of the tangent, and then say, thus by inspection – the chord of contact equation is …..

    Thanks!

  2. 1. cis (#), whilst it is frowned upon, would be accepted. By the way rite is wrong, write is right!!!

    2. If it says find a and b, then specify a =? , b = ?, otherwise just leave it as a + ib.

    3. I would say yes, but perhaps I would prove the equation of the tangent rather than just state it. (it does not matter whether it is a hyperbola or an ellipse, or a parabola for that matter, the proof is the same)
