Sir, in patel textbook, it says that the equation for chord of contact of a rectangular hyperbola is xx1 + yy1 = 2(c^2)…why is it different from yours??

You know I’ve never noticed that before.
The simple answer is that Patel has it wrong (or more likely it is a misprint)
Remember: tangents and chords of contact will look like the equation of the conic
xy0+x0y =2c^2 looks like xy + xy =2c^2 -> 2xy = 2c^2 -> xy = c^2
